Although Libya which has rich oil and natural resources, State has problems
in solving economic problems. Libya can’t use its potential in foreign trade
and this affects wealth of citizens negatively. Also Turkey is a developing
country which performs better performance especially after 2002 The exports
and imports of Turkey have increased for last 15 years. The aim of this
research is to investigate foreign trade between these two countries. To this
aim we searched TUIK data about foreign trade of these two countries. It is
revealed that the most important export items of Turkey are jewellery and
parts, furnitures and poultry meat. The most important import items are gold,
copper and petroleum gasses. Foreign trade between these two countries
developed and reached maximum volume in 2013 However, conflicts in
Libya affected foreign trade between them and decreased volume. Two
countries can be in wealthier conditions by evaluating foreign trade
opportunities between two countries. Turkish brands can use potentials and
evaluate opportunities in Libya.
